Nordhaven is an attempt to capture Swedish stillness in a fragrance – for Pana Dora Sweden, Ibrahim Al-Zoubi plays on the contrast between bright fruit and a dark woody base. At first the opening feels sunny: fruity accents, pink pepper and thorn apple open the composition, joined by a surprising wine-yeast note that brings a slightly vintner-sweet depth. At the heart, an elegant floral accord of ylang-ylang, tuberose, peony and violet unfolds, laced with the citrus freshness of clementine and the fruity sweetness of pineapple. The base provides the counterpoint: leather, cedarwood and moss create a cool woody depth into which brown sugar weaves a warm, quietly gourmand trail.
