At the heart of Santal Indien is Ceylon sandalwood – creamy, velvety, with an almost spiritual depth reminiscent of temples and warm wood. Christian Provenzano surrounds this central note with a delicate echo of Moroccan orange blossom and Tunisian neroli, whose soft floralcy brightens the wood without taking away its warmth. The opening of bergamot and saffron sets a brief, spicy accent before the composition unfolds in a quiet, meditative way. In the base, crystal amber, tonka bean and vanilla deepen the creamy sweetness, while Haitian vetiver and Virginian cedarwood provide an earthy grounding – a fragrance that holds itself back and, precisely because of that, lingers.
